Danzas, música y artes marciales son parte de las celebraciones del año nuevo chino.
Las decoraciones y los alimentos típicos del Año Nuevo Lunar se apoderan de los mercados y después de los hogares, llenando de rojo, oro y caligrafías todos los lugares.
La comunidad china en Londres celebró la llegada del año del conejo.
Este año hay "mala suerte hacia el oeste y gran suerte al norte y sur", establece el Calendario Chino, lo que se aplica a viajes y relaciones, pero por el momento, los taiwaneses y chinos de todo el mundo, vive el período familiar de descanso y tradiciones.
Jóvenes interpretan la danza del dragón en el barrio chino de Manila, Filipinas.
El Año del Conejo es más favorable y sereno que el tumultuoso Año del Tigre 2010 y hay perspectivas de mejora.
Los templos se llenan de gente, pero también se presentan los respetos a los antepasados ante su altar en el hogar.
Antes de la llegada del Año Nuevo es tradicional una limpieza a fondo de los hogares y también el desprenderse de todo lo viejo y anticuado, lo que origina en la isla montañas de muebles, electrodomésticos y otros objetos en sitios designados a tal efecto.
Las familias, a pesar de la modernización y avances tecnológicos en la isla, se siguen reuniendo en la Nochevieja lunar en un banquete, en el que abundan los alimentos que simbolizan fortuna, prosperidad y longevidad ("Fu Lu Shou"), los tres seres protectores presentes en casi todos los templos chinos.
Según el zodiaco chino corresponde al conejo y también a la libre, algo que no sucedía desde 1999.
La tradición, a pesar de los avances tecnológicos, sigue reinando tanto en los hogares taiwaneses como en los de los chinos, para celebrar el iniciodel Año Nuevo Lunar.
