'Spring breakers' invaden playas mexicanas

Las bajas tarifas aéreas y hoteleras son un incentivo muy poderoso para los visitantes de EU.
Cancún, el principal destino de los estudiantes estadounidenses durante su receso primaveral, está lista para recibir una multitud de visitantes tras recuperarse rápidamente de los tres golpes que acusó el sector turística mexicana el año pasado: la influenza, la violencia del narcotráfico y la crisis económica mundial
La ola de jóvenes estudiantes de EU ya se dejó sentir en Acapulco.
La notoriedad de las vacaciones de primavera incluyen un incremento del alcohol y actividad sexual.
El 80 por ciento es de origen estadounidense y el 20 por ciento restante, canadienses que estudian en EU.
Las edades de jóvenes turistas oscilan generalmente entre los 18 y los 20 años
Con un gasto promedio de 60 dólares por persona, los adolescentes atraídos por la fiesta y que a sus 18 años pueden beber en territorio mexicano, significan algunos ingresos para hoteles, centros nocturnos y, en cierta medida, agentes de viajes.
Los spring breakers, en la forma que los conocemos, tan deshinibidos, hicieron su aparición a mediados de la década de los 90.
Algunas empresas hoteleras se han negado a recibirlos debido a que por el consumo exagerado de alcohol y drogas, ocasionan destrozos y desmanes.
En los viajes, operadores turísticos de Estados Unidos ven la oportunidad de vender miles de paquetes con avión y hotel todo incluido por precios accesibles, en tanto que los empresarios mexicanos se resignan: en estos tiempos, bienvenido cualquier visitante.
Los spring breakers, llamados así porque aprovechan su descanso de primavera o spring break, entre finales de febrero y principios de abril, para escapar de la disciplina y costumbres a los que están sujetos diariamente.
Llegan en ruidosas bandadas de más de 30 y rompen muebles de hoteles y reglas.
Han comenzado a aparecer en Puerto Vallarta y en menor cantidad en Los Cabos, por ser éste un destino turístico más caro.
Los spring breakers comenzaron a llegar a las playas mexicanas y eligen sobre todo Cancún y Acapulco.
