El viaje de Ansari supone una prueba de fuego para la promoción del turismo espacial, uno de los nuevos sectores en desarrollo relacionados con la exploración del cosmos.
Una vez concluida la fase de separación del cohete portador, la Soyuz TMA-9 con sus tripulantes a bordo comenzó su vuelo autónomo hacia la EEI, a la que se acoplará el próximo miércoles 20 de septiembre.
"Una encantadora sonrisa femenina se adueñó hoy del turismo espacial", comentó la televisión estatal rusa, que por primera vez transmitió por primera vez en directo el lanzamiento de una nave tripulada.
Durante su permanencia de diez días en el espacio, Ansari, de 40 años, realizará dos experimentos de la Agencia Espacial Europea y un tercero del consorcio aeroespacial ruso Energía.
