- Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez no dejó lugar a dudas y pulverizó al británico Callum Smith a lo largo de 12 rounds, para vencerlo anoche por decisión unánime en el Alamodome, de San Antonio, Texas. El púgil tapatío fue amplio dominador del combate y volvió a dejar constancia de su calidad, para agenciarse la corona mundial de peso Súper Mediano, en las versiones del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo (CMB) y de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB). Smith llegó a esta contienda como una prueba suprema para Álvarez en la división de las 168 libras, pero el excampeón de Reino Unido nunca fue una real amenaza para "El Canelo", que sin mayores problemas le endilgó su primera derrota dentro del boxeo de paga.
