Varios cientos de manifestantes, en su mayoría estudiantes, se concentraron frente a las oficinas del gobierno de Hong Kong, bloquearon el tráfico de una importante arteria y algunos ocuparon la entrada de la oficina de impuestos. Las nuevas manifestaciones comenzaron al cumplirse el plazo para que el gobierno responda a los reclamos en torno a proyectos de ley de extradición que muchos consideran ponen en juego la independencia judicial del territorio.
